Greetings and salutations, blog readers!
I sat down to write, and found my creative reserves were running low after weeks of combined stress and worry, not to mention pushing through illness and said stress.
This morning (afternoon, but my morning) I fell ill, puking, again, likely due to the lack of food being met with having food, and eating fully. Either way, I had some nausea medication, and after sleeping much of the day, I was able to make some soup, watch a movie, clean some dishes, do some basic puttering like the litter box, and then sat down to write…but nothing was coming easily. Sure, I could easily force myself to work on Flake City, to write a few blogs. I could force myself to sit down and write one of the blogs I have on a list…but frankly, my head hurts and I am fairly tired…what I would like is a nice peaceful evening reading a book I am in the middle of and truly enjoying.

Recharge the ole batteries, as it were. Putting up a blog everyday can tire you out a bit, as can vlogging and editing everyday, working on a large scale zombie story involving no small amount of magic, stress from the current pandemic, and of course, regular life stuff….it all wears you out. I need a small break, and to make matters worse the break I need is one I will never ever want to take…a break from writing and blogging, for one night, give myself a break, and not spend the night writing, creating, and building my writing career.
The mere idea terrified me.
I grabbed the book I wanted to continue reading, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, as I am on Chapter 27, and sat down to read while Zombieland 2: Doubletap, played in the background.
Then I thought, hey, look at you, reading, taking time for yourself, for your mental health, but still doing something so very good for you, your writing, and still your mental health.
Because reading is fundamental for so many very good reasons, including being good for not only your mental stability but your cognitive reasoning, your creative thoughts, your overall brain functions can be improved from reading a book.
To say nothing of the break it gives my brain from creating, letting recharge, regroup, and be better than ever tomorrow.
Then I opened my laptop, realizing that I wanted to share this little blog lesson with you…

And now I am realizing how bad I am at taking small breaks for myself.
But hey, if you are a long time reader of this blog, you probably already knew that, didn’t you?
Well I thank you for reading this blog, and encourage you to go read some more. I myself am going to end this here, and go read, as I intended, and instead tell you this…
Reading is not only fundamental, it is good for you. So go read something, and never be afraid to take a break, even if you aren’t that good at it…try and take a few minutes for you, and read, escape somewhere else, and enjoy.
Anyways, as always, I thank each and every one of you for being here for my blogging journey, and I hope you benefitted from yet another blog lesson.
Thanks for Reading!
