Greetings and Salutations, Blog Readers!
Today we are continuing in our reviews of the Fall of Houston Book Series by T. L. Payne.
This book picks up where the last one left off, and, having read the entire series, I can say confidently, begins fully building with where this book series is going, and where it connects with the Days of Want series by the same author, T. L. Payne ( I have reviewed these books, if you want to check them out.)
The storm has finally stopped, but, leaves behind it troubles. The terrorist attacks that left most of the entire country helpless, and now the characters are forced to deal with the aftermath of not only the massive storm, but the ramifications of the EMP attack.
Will, Isabella, and Cayden, are thrust into the world of trying to survive, with the natural violence one would expect quickly taking front and center to people trying to get supplies and live. With no time to catch their breaths, they find themselves thrust into a terrible situation involving the government and the foreign forces hell bent on continuing their mission to destroy the country.
The action doesn’t let off for most of the book, and yet Will’s mission to get them supplies to help them make it to his sister’s house in Louisiana continues, which I personally liked- all too often in these types of books, the main mission gets forgotten with the struggles of survival, but that was not the case with this book.
We also get to see Will’s sister, Savannah’s side of things, so we aren’t only seeing one problem unfold, and are also aware of the situation and problems that Will, Cayden, and Isabella will walk into if they are able to fulfill their goals of getting to her off grid property.
So, true to my reviews, I do not want to give too much away, but I will say this book begins setting up the action of not only the middle of this series, but where it is going for the end.
T.L. Payne does a magnificent job of telling the story while setting up the rest of the story. This is much of what I loved about the Days of Want series that goes with this series- T. L. Payne sets up so much story line- they write amazing series. These series are wonderful, well written, and do a wonderful job of laying out a story and building the story that will continue to grow.
I don’t want to say what all happens, but I will say book two was fantastic, and set up the rest of the great books, which build into a great series. This book did a great job of getting me excited for the rest of the series, I was eager to see what would happen when Will, Cayden, and Isabella get to Savannah’s home. I look forward to seeing a how the whole group then continues to struggle through not only the problems they are dealing with, but the ongoing war that began with the attacks that damaged the country. The tone of the story shifts from surviving the storm, to surviving the onslaught of foreign soldiers.
So, if you are looking for an awesome story, a wonderful series that builds? Look no further.
Thanks for reading,
